Meet Sally! She is a terrier mix and a total sweetheart! She came into the shelter with her sister and they grew up relying heavily on each other. Her sister was adopted, leaving her alone and unsure. At 3 years old, she still has a ways to go training-wise, but is surprisingly responsive, not to treats, but to praise alone. She's still gaining confidence, but once she warms up, she is the funnest pup around!

Currently weighing in at about 53 pounds, this girl could stand to lose some of that "puppy" fat. She would fit in best with a quiet household with gentle children that will help her trust again. Having another doggie role-model may help her learn the ropes. So will you come and give this girl some much needed love?

All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. For more information about FOTA or to make a donation, please visit http://www.friendsoftheanimalsbr.org/.

About Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge

About Our Rescue Group...

Friends of the Animals in Baton Rouge, LA is a non-profit animal welfare organization working towards our goal of finding loving homes for the homeless dogs and puppies in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Our mission is to rescue, re-home, or otherwise save as many dogs and puppies from euthanasia at the municipal shelter and in the parish of East Baton Rouge.
Since starting in 2010, FOTA has found forever homes for over 1000 animals from the EBR Parish shelter and PASS Program.

Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (PASS) is a Friends of the Animals program. We work with the public in East Baton Rouge Parish to determine and implement the best solution for them to keep pets from entering the shelter. The program was created to fill in that gap by helping the public find resources to help them keep their pets or pets they have found out of the shelter. PASS offers resources such as pointing people to low cost medical options; help with behavioral resources; advocating on their behalf; lost and found resources or re-homing their pet with ad placement. PASS does not have a facility to house the pet during the re-homing process, nor does PASS have fosters, therefore owners or finders must be able to foster the pet through the re-homing process.
