Maui is a 9 year old Border Collie mix available for adoption in Las Vegas. I adopted Maui from Adopt A Rescue pet when he was a year old . He has a sweet disposition, loves people kids, and other dogs, even though he doesn't go to the dog park anymore.
When I first adopted Maui, he was a run away, he loved to jump but he tore his Left Cruciate Ligament and had surgery to repair it about 5 years ago cost about $2800,he has a metal plate inserted, but he is doing great. He is not a jumper anymore. He gets a half of rimadyl 100 mg tablet, twice a day.
He is a very active dog for being 9 years old,he loves to go for walks and walks well on a leash. He is a perfect companion for a family with kids or a single couple. He is a quiet dog, he howls when an ambulance goes by , it is so neat.
He is a sweet and loving dog,that has unconditional love. He has beautiful dark blue eye that mesmerize you.He does like to have his belly scratched, and doesn't mind getting a bath when needed.he is mostly black in color with white stomach and some brown coloring too. He doesn't like his feet touched don't know why.
He has never been aggressive before if anything he has been submissive and quiet. He really does love people, gets so excited when we get company and when we meet someone when we go for walks. He wasn't trained too much but does sit on command and gives U his paw. H doesn't eat much at all, and has always been like that, since I adopted him.
He also loves to go for rides in the car, he just needs to be lifted up as I have a SUV and it is too high for him. He has 3 favorite places to sleep , on the sofa,the bed at night or I have a nice home made doggie bed he likes too.
Maui is microchipped and comes with a free vet visit. Maui will be available for adoption on Saturday & Sunday from 10am-3pm at Petsmart located on 2140 N Rainbow Blvd (Best of the West Shopping Center), cross streets Rainbow & Lake Mead Blvd. Adoption fee applies. You are required to have a collar & leash that fit the dog you are adopting before you can take the dog home with you.
