Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hope was rescued from a high-kill pound in May of 2012. She had a severe case of allergic dermatitus, was almost bald and was extremely withdrawn. It took about 8 months to clear up the skin infection and get her hair growing back in. As you can see, in the photo, she is now healthy and beautiful. She is a very quiet and timid girl. Only recently has she begun to play with the other dogs and her attempts are a bit awkward. Hope does well with several breeds and sizes of dogs and she is not aggressive toward cats, but does not want to socialize with them. She loves to be petted and talked to and she will "talk" back to you. She is house trained, crate trained to a wire kennel (but we have not used it in a while), and leash trained and is very well behaved indoors even without supervision. She loves to go for long walks but does not like to be left outside without a person present. She is terrified of storms, even just rain or wind. Hope is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever been around.
Because of the length of time she has been with me and the amount of attention given her during the months of treating the dermatitus, finding the right home for Hope will be a process as she is sensitive and very attached to me. We will need to have several 'play dates' and even visits to your home for her to get to know you and get comfortable with you and any other dogs you may have before she can be successfully moved to your home. I really want to see her transfer her affection from me to her new parent(s). I am located in Normandy, TN. If you live within a reasonable driving distance and are willing to spend the time to get to know Hope, please contact me at 931-581-1990 or ksappington@cafes.net. She will be a wonderful companion to someone who is wiling to invest the time to earn her love and she is definitely worth the effort.
