Andy's Story...
This is Andy. He is a 2-3 year old male golden. He was picked up as a stray and then turned into the shelter. AGB was contacted and of course they said they would take him. It took 3 “chauffeurs” to get him to Birmingham. He was a bit nervous when he first got in the car with the first driver, but the further away from the shelter they got, the more settled “Orphan” Andy became. By the time the last chauffer turned him over to AGB, they knew he was the sweetest boy. He has undergone his vet check and was diagnosed as heartworm positive, and also needed to be neutered. Andy has had his treatment and is feeling much better. A little bit more R & R and Andy is ready for his forever home. He is a very sweet boy who deserves an awesome home where the family will spend lots of time with him doing all kind of kule things. He just wants to settle down with his own family and be the spoiled rotten dog he knows he was born to be! If you think you can handle the the most awesome dog – than “Orphan” Andy is your pup. Please visit him at www.adoptagoldenbirmingham.com or call 205-908-1566 or email ashawrn@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Andy, a BIRMINGHAM Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in BIRMINGHAM, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in BIRMINGHAM.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in BIRMINGHAM already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a BIRMINGHAM breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in BIRMINGHAM paves the way for another one to be saved.
