Elmo's Story...
Elmo is a 2 year old Cairn Terrier mix, weighing 28 pounds. He is active, energetic and very inquisitive. Elmo thrives on human companion- ship and will completely focus on his leader.

Elmo is not your typical "lap dog". He is extremely smart and needs someone that will challenge him both mentally and physically. With proper training, Elmo would excel as a service dog or agility dog. If left to his own devices, Elmo can be a mischievous clown - stealing unattended items just to get your attention for a game of chase!

Despite his active personality, he is completely housebroken and does extremely well with his crate, including sleeping up to nine hours.

If you have been searching for a small dog to compliment your active lifestyle, your search is over. Elmo is your man!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elmo, a Avon Cairn Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cairn Terrier for sale in Avon, or seeking a Cairn Terrier dog from a breeder in Avon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Avon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Avon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cairn Terrier breeders who help with Cairn Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Avon paves the way for another one to be saved.
