Dougie's Story...
Hi there, my name is Dougie. I am a little over a year old and am the sweetest thing you will ever meet! My very short road in life has not been easy, but I am a trooper! I was rescued by these great people on February 13 of this year with 13 other dogs from a place that had too many to properly care for them. I am a little shy when I first meet you and it does take me a bit to warm up, but once I do you will have a best friend for life! I am guessed to be a Pit Bull, Pointer mix. I am absolutely sweet and get along great with other dog in my foster home and the cats. My perfect home would be one that is patient and understanding, realizing that in my short life I have been through a lot. You see, after I was rescued with the other 13 dogs back in February, the people at Happy Tails tracked me back to a shelter in California. They have no idea what my life was before I ended up in one of the shelters there, but since then they know that I was brought up here to Washington State. Sent to a place that had 50 dogs there and was crated way too much. Then I was rescued from there and brought to my wonderful foster home that I have now. All my pressure point sores have healed nicely, I have put on a lot of weight and am looking good! The internal parasites are now all gone, and I am ready to find that forever home that I so deserve. Along with patience and understanding, my perfect home would have another dog for me to play with. because I love my foster sister, and she is great fun to play with! So if you think you might be the perfect home for me, please inquire within and someone will get back to you shortly!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dougie, a Bellingham Pointer/Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Pointer/Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pointer/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
