Tessa Mae's Story...
Tessa Mae is an 8-year old Shih Tzu/Papillion mix. She is super adorable. She enjoys other dogs, and plays like a two-year old. She was turned in to rescue when her human mom had financial difficulties that would not allow her to take care of her. Tessa Mae is housetrained, and very sweet. She will need time to adjust to a new home because she is not sure why she is not at home. It will be a very lucky family who adopts this darling! Tessa is use to living in an apartment and does well with walking on a leash. Our fence requirement is waived for her.Fence/enclosed patio required for most dogs. We check your vet reference and fence. Dogs are current on vaccinations, HW negative, micro chipped, dental if needed and spayed/neutered. Email for quickest response.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tessa Mae, a Shawnee Mission Shih Tzu/Papillon dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Papillon for sale in Shawnee Mission, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Papillon dog from a breeder in Shawnee Mission.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shawnee Mission already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shawnee Mission breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Papillon breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Papillon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shawnee Mission paves the way for another one to be saved.
