Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Steeler is a 5-6 year old blue heeler mix. This love bug has had a very rough past. A rescue in Kentucky took him in after he was hit by a car. The poor boy had been suffering for a week before the rescue was able to help. He had to have immediate surgery on his left hip and was transferred to Pfister Animal Hospital the next day. The rehab team at Pfister Animal Hospital did everything that they could to try to save his left front leg which had nerve damage from being hit by the car. Unfortunately, his leg could not be saved and had to be amputated. Through it all Steeler has been a very willing patient and has had an incredible spirit. He is incredibly smart and learns very quickly. Even when he was only able to use two legs, he was not going to be stopped from doing anything any other dog could do. Now with three good legs he is truly unstoppable. Steeler loves people and being near them, the closer the better. His attitude and spirit have been an inspiration to all of us at Pfister Animal Hospital and we can't wait for him to find a home with a family that recognizes that he has no handicap and will challenge you to keep up.
Steeler is microchipped, spayed and up to date on his shots and vaccines. Please complete an online application at www.rescueAhart.org if you'd like to meet him. Thanks!
