Hi! I’m Oreo and I'm looking for a forever family. I'm a sweet little boy who loves to cuddle and give kisses. I'm a 4 year old Shih Tzu and weigh just 15 pounds.
I have not had an easy life. My previous owners put me out in the back yard and forgot about me. Somehow my eye was injured, but they never took me to the vet to get care. I just stayed in the yard, hurt and alone wondering what I had done wrong.
Finally, my owners dumped me off at a shelter. I looked so battered and beat up, I thought no one could ever love me and I that would surely never leave there. One day a lady and man came to the shelter. With all the cute puppies I didn’t think they would look at me. But they came straight to my cage. I heard them tell the officer that they were from rescue. I didn’t know what that meant. I think it has something to do with lots of hugs because I got more hugs on the ride home than I had in my whole four years. It was great!
My foster mommy and daddy took me to the vet where they took great care of me. They did an operation on my eye. I’m not sure what they did but I know that for the first time in a long time, I wasn’t in pain.
My foster mom is teaching me to go to the potty outside. She said for a little guy that lived outside for so long I am doing great. One thing she didn’t have to teach me to how to jump in her lap and give kisses. I figured that one out – all on my own!
My foster mommy tells me there is a perfect family out there who will love me forever. But, she said, they would have to be very special to get a special little guy like me. I really like it when she talks like that. Are you that special person?
I am currently fostering in southeast Virginia and my asking adoption fee is $275.
