Mack (aka Bear)'s Story...
Mack aka Bear - Bernese/Mountain Dog x Retriever - 2yo Neutered Male, was rescued on 20 April 2013. He was # 2 on the euth list. Although he was described as the perfect family pet, housebroken, great with kids, dogs, cats and a kennel favorite .. most is probably accurate, but he is such a happy, rambunctious and playful boy that we are concerned he might be a bit too much for very young/small children. He would be fine with teenagers and older. He has the same wonderful qualities of a retriever but he is a tall boy! There is a hint of brown in his coat and a splash of a white bib on his chest, which could be from his Mountain Dog origins. He was at the kill "shelter" for 6 weeks, so he was fairly traumatized by this. At this time, he is a little timid/shy when meeting somebody for the first time, but we truly believe that soon that memory will be behind him and he will return to his normal happy-go-lucky and goofy self at all times! Very loving, sweet and has an endless supply of kisses and hugs. He did not get the memo that he was not a lap dog, so strong thighs for his new family is a plus!! A beautiful expressive face and we look forward to restoring a shine to his coat, too. This would be a fantastic addition to a family that enjoys being outdoors walking, playing, jogging, going to the beach etc (or for parents that want to get their teenagers off the computer and outside for exercise and fresh air!). Mack (aka Bear .. it suits him better) is neutered, vaccinated, up to date on wormer, heartworm and flea medication.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mack (aka Bear), a Eustis Bernese Mountain Dog/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bernese Mountain Dog/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Eustis, or seeking a Bernese Mountain Dog/Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Eustis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Eustis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Eustis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bernese Mountain Dog/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Bernese Mountain Dog/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Eustis paves the way for another one to be saved.
