My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Josie is a sweet little black mix girl who came to us from a shelter very pregnant. Most shelters don’t want to mess with newborn puppies so pregnant females are put down quite often. Josie gave birth to 7 beautiful puppies shortly after coming to Lucky Lab Rescue. All of her pups found wonderful homes several months ago, but when it was Josie’s turn to be vetted and get ready to find her forever home, we found that she was heartworm positive. Darn, this little girl couldn’t catch a break. She has had her heartworm treatment now and after a couple of months of rehab she has finally completed her vetting. Josie is a great girl – very sweet and loving. She is small weighing about 35 lbs and she is about 3 years old. Josie is now in a foster home with several other canine buddies of all sizes and ages and is getting along wonderfully. She even does well with the resident kitty. Her foster mom thinks that she is the sweetest thing ever and is so good about everything. She doesn’t get into anything, is trustworthy in the house when left alone, is housebroken, gets along great with everyone, is excited when someone comes to visit, likes to cuddle and get hugs. She also likes to go for walks and does very well on the leash. Actually, she likes to do about anything as long as she is with her people. Josie would be considered low to medium energy and would be great in any family situation. Josie has been spayed, up to date on vaccinations including rabies, free of heartworm and micro-chipped.
