Jake's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, and not good with cats.

Jake's Story...
My name is Jake, and while I am 8 1/2, I really don't act like it! I had to be surrendered because my previous family couldn't take me to exercise, so when I was able to be out of my crate, I would run around like a 2 YO! But I don't understand it, because my foster Mother doesn't make me stay in a crate during the day or night! And now that I am getting exercised and some activity with all of my foster brothers and sisters (I get along well with all dogs large and small; and kids; but no cats), I am great! Now don't get me wrong...I am much more active than your typical 8 1/2 YO. I am a very good and loving boy; I know basic commands of sit, down, and shake. The only thing my foster mother is trying to work with me on is my counter surfing, but I think I am getting better already. I would make a great addition to most any home, as long as you will be willing to take me on walks; to the dog park, or somewhere I can run a few times a week! I am fostered in Sarasota with Melanie Lehmann. If you would like to meet me, please email her at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Sarasota Weimaraner dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Weimaraner for sale in Sarasota, or seeking a Weimaraner dog from a breeder in Sarasota.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sarasota already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sarasota breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Weimaraner breeders who help with Weimaraner rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sarasota paves the way for another one to be saved.
