My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

6 1/2 year old Gretchen arrived happy as can be from her journey to Colorado. She came excited with tail wagging and a very inquisitive nature. As you can see from her photos, she has a beautiful thick dark red coat and appears to be healthy as a pure golden girl can be!!! After her initial period of checking out the house, she can now always be found near a human family member. While her foster family has one young and one 9-year old golden, she currently shows more interest in the humankind rather then the canines!

Within the first 24 hours, she mastered the stairs - both inside and out! She quickly realized if you want to be with your humans you have to master the stairs! She shows no fear of inside or outside noises or for that matter - anything else! So far so good on the house manners...tho she'd rather you open the door for her than use the dog door! She has yet to be food motivated...maybe cause she heard she has the "green bean diet" in her future as she has a few pounds she could lose! Walking on lead will take some practice as she tends to get all wound up and excited!!! Toys aren't a big motivator yet either but give her some time to get totally comfortable! She's not big on crating and will let you know what she thinks of that idea!!! But, since she appears to be reliable in the house - that likely won't be an issue!!

Gretchen is looking for a home with a family that she can love and assume the role of your very own velcro girl! Are you looking for a girl to love and care for and get lots of golden girl love in return? Consider Gretchen as your new golden gal! Let us know you think she could be that forever friend!!

Gretchen is currently on medical hold. Please check back for further updates.
