My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Senior searching for home…

My name is Wynonna and I’m a 9 year old Great Dane. I had been wandering the streets, looking for my family for quite some time when Animal Control picked me up. The Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue was kind enough to pick me up and take me to my new foster home. I’ve been on my own for so long that I was very shy and timid with my foster mom. I’m just not used to having people pay attention to me and love on me! But, I’m getting the hang of this house living and now I wag my tail and I’m happy to see my humans when they come home! I even give them soft kisses and they think it is the coolest thing in the world!

I’m an older lady, so I’m pretty happy just to take a nap in my crate or hang out on the floor next to my humans. I really prefer these soft dog beds over the hard, cold ground I slept on! I get along well with my foster siblings but that’s because they aren’t puppies! I’d be too worn out if I had to play with a puppy all day. I’ve also been introduced to human kids and I like them too! My foster mom says I’m so laidback and easy to please…that’s how all dogs should be, right?

I don’t really like to play in the backyard but I do like to go on walks and I walk well on a leash now! I like to be close to my humans so I like it when they take me with them on these little walks! Plus, I know they aren’t going to leave me outside and alone again.

Since I lived on the streets for a few years, I picked up something called heartworms. Lucky for me, the rescue is treating me and I have my last treatment the end of April. I know I will feel better as soon as my treatment is over and I get a clean bill of health!

I might be a little shy when I first see you but I promise I will warm up to you and remain loyal to you for the rest of my life…if you give me the chance. I just want to find unconditional love for once in my life and have a forever family. Can you please give me the chance I’ve been waiting my whole life for?

Forever Yours,

Wynonna
