Black Jack & Diamond's Story...
Hi, This is Diamond Lil (one with pink nose) and this is my brother, Black Jack (he’s got the big black nose). Foster moma calls us “The Peas” since we are like peas in a pod. She says “Where one goes, the other will follow”.

I’m the more outgoing one; however, my brother just takes a minute longer to show you that we are very loving and affectionate lap cats but not overbearing, possessive or needy like some other cats we know. We are quite self sufficient but not aloof. We love to play with you if you will bring out the feathered toy or just quietly play together bat a toy back and forth.

Eventhough he is my ookie brother, I really love him so. He couldn’t exist without me so he must love me too. You will frequently find us in the window perch together. Since he is petite, I like to use him as my pillow. And I dote on him, grooming him when he misses a spot.

I told you we are very affectionate and love to sit in your lap. Usually I will lead the way and not before much time has passed at all, there is my brother crawling up to get in on the snuggling. We can make ourselves quite comfortable in your lap together.

We are spayed/neutered, negative for FIV/FeLV and current on all vaccines.  We are now about 4 years old but were adopted as 4Paws kittens. Our adopter returned us because he met some girl who was allergic to cats. Well, clearly, our perfect forever home wasn’t available yet. Will you please be our Best Forever Home?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Black Jack & Diamond, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
