Milo's Story...
Milo is a 9 week old Dachshund puppy whose owners turned him into a kill shelter after he became ill with the deadly parvo virus. Milo lucked out, as our rescue happened to be there are the right place at the right time and rushed Milo to the vet for life saving care. Milo responded well to treatment and will be ready to go to his forever home in about a week.
Milo will be neutered, UTD on shots, chipped, and fully vetted prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $300 to offset SOME of the costs incurred with his treatment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Milo, a Lancaster Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Lancaster, or seeking a Dachshund puppy from a breeder in Lancaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lancaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lancaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lancaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
