Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We need to re-home our dog Yogi. Yogi is a really good dog. He is very smart and wants to please. He is obedient and very loyal. He loves to go for walks and is great riding in the car. Yogi is very sweet and loves attention. He is house broken and has always been an inside dog. He gets along and plays with our other big dogs but would probably be the happiest if he could have a family all to himself. He does not get along with our 13 year old alpha female Blue Heeler.
Gender: male
Age: 5 yrs.
Mix/Purebred: German shepherd mix
Housetrained: yes – never has accidents
Crate trained: has not been in a crate since a puppy
Heartworm Negative/Positive: negative (tested 4-2013)
Spayed/Neutered: neutered
Micro chipped: no
Good with other dogs: yes, cautious/shy at first (has really only been around our dogs)
Good with cats: has not been around cats Good with children: scared and nervous around small children
We have five dogs in our household, three Australian Shepherds, a Blue Heeler and Yogi. We got Yogi when he was 8 weeks old. He is the youngest of our 5 dogs. Once Yogi got to be about a year old we started having some problems with him and our female Blue Heeler. About every 6 months they would get into a fight. The Blue Heeler has always been the alpha of our dogs and she is now 13 years old. Over the past several months the fighting has gotten worse and we have become fearful for our older dog, the Blue Heeler. After a lot of thought, we have decided that we need to find a new home for Yogi. We want all our dogs, including Yogi, to have happy safe lives.
For the past couple years, Yogi has been around a 4-6 year old girl on the weekends. He has always seemed scared and shy/nervous when he is around her. He is cautious around new people.
