Sadie's Story...
Sadie is an adorable bundle of Jack Russell Terrier joy! This little 1 1/2 year old girl was brought into a high kill shelter in Louisiana as a stray. No owner came to claim her and Sadie was scheduled for euthanasia on her 8th day at the pound because she was favoring her right front leg…thankfully she was rescued instead by Bonnie Blue Rescue friend PAWS of NE LA and is now looking for a forever home up north. After many xrays and exams by the vet, it was determined that Sadie’s limp is due to an old injury of some sort…she has had no apparent broken bones but does have nerve damage in her right front leg and does not use it normally. It doesn’t appear to be causing her any pain. Initially we were planning to amputate as we were worried she would drag it and cause infection/sores. Since starting some basic physical therapy and lots of exercise in foster care, Sadie has gained some control back of her injured leg and definitely uses it to balance and bear some weight. While our vet has cleared Sadie and does not feel like she will need surgery, potential adopters should be aware that future complications from Sadie’s right front leg could arise. Sadie’s leg does not slow her down at all…she can run, jump and play like a normal, happy JRT! Check out this sweetie in action here: http://youtu.be/0M2JIT4fKIQ. She loves to play with other dogs and with toys. She is housetrained, loves her crate and enjoys cuddle time, walks around the neighborhood and rides in the car. Sadie is a darling girl who deserves a forever home that will give her as much love as she gives them in return! Sadie is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and current on prevention.

Please email us at bonniebluerescue@gmail.com if you are interested in fostering or adopting Sadie! Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sadie, a Richmond Jack Russell Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier puppy from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
