Sam's Story...
I came to the HCHS-G shelter March 15th. I was feeling bloated at the time but not sure why. Easter Sunday I found out why I felt that way when I gave birth to 5 babies! I have been a very good mom but it's time to let my kittens find their own way and for me to find mine. Next week (the 23rd) I'll be getting spay. I will be ready to go to a furever home on the 25th. I love to play and be brushed. Right now I am in a foster home. If you would like to meet me you can call 944-4868 to make arrangements. DOB 3-18-10 POSTED MAY 15, 2015 Today I got my "big girl" surgery, microchipped, tested for FeLV/FIV and my vaccinations. No more babies for this girl! I am ready for a family to love and adore me. I will be leaving my foster home for the shelter in a few days. POSTED MAY 23, 2013.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Geneseo Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Geneseo, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Geneseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Geneseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Geneseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Geneseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
