Marge's Story...

shoe and dog

(ID #683) Hi, my name is Marge.

I am a three year old Lab Mix. I was found wandering the streets searching for food and shelter. I can't remember anything before that. At least here at the shelter I have my basic needs met, like food and water plus a roof over my head. However, I am longing to find my forever home and a family to love. I have plenty of love to give. Do you have room in your heart and your home for me?? Come and have a meet-n-greet with me.

I am a young lady at heart and I weigh around 55 pounds. I have been checked out by a veterinarian and spayed. I received a set of preventative shots, have been wormed. I tested positive for heartworms when I first came to the shelter. Sheltered Paws paid for the medicine to treat me, so now I am FREE of those pesky things. I got a little chunky around the middle because of my heartworm treatment. I had to stay quiet and not very active. Now that was bad because I love all the treats the volunteers give me. Now I can play and chase the balls. That middle will slim down after I start to get more exercise.

I am being sponsored by Sheltered Paws Dog Rescue. That means they are providing you with a getting started Goodie Bag when you adopt me. The bag contains a collar, leash, ID tag, training DVD, CD with helpful articles, booklet with training information, toy, and treats. You will receive a Rebate Certificate that can be used towards payment of a training course with the trainer of your choice. Sheltered Paws will rebate back to you a dollar value up to but not to exceed $100.00.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marge, a Cincinnati Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
