Ruby's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Ruby's Story...
2 year old Ruby loves to run, check things out then come back for some rubbing - just don't ask her to stay still long. She walks well on leash, know sit, and gets along with other dogs, cats (she used to live with one) and children who are respectful. If you are looking for a little spitz in your life Ruby will fit the bill!

The application/screening process for potential adopters usually takes about 24 hours except when it falls over a weekend or holiday, and then it may take two or three days. We ask that potential adopters please be patient with us; we are only trying our best to ensure that the homeless pets in our care get the best possible home. All cats and dogs adopted from our shelter are spayed or neutered (as Texas law mandates).

Our adoption fee is currently $70 for non-residents and $75 for residents*.

The adoption fee includes:

spaying/neutering
vaccinations (appropriate to species and age)
heartworm or feline leukemia test (appropriate to species and age)
de-worming medication
microchip (a tiny ID tag inserted under the skin, which allows your pet to be returned to you quickly)

There is a $5 Pet License fee added to the adoption fee if the adopter lives inside the City Limits of Georgetown.

Please visit our website for more information on how to adopt, special events, adoption application, educational and volunteer information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruby, a Georgetown Finnish Spitz/Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Finnish Spitz/Pug for sale in Georgetown, or seeking a Finnish Spitz/Pug dog from a breeder in Georgetown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Georgetown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Georgetown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Finnish Spitz/Pug breeders who help with Finnish Spitz/Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Georgetown paves the way for another one to be saved.
