Rosie's Story...
Meet Rosie as written by her foster mom.....
We are the foster parents for a beautiful Black Lab named Rosie. She is approximately 2-3 years old and has been spayed and has had all her shots. We believe she may be a mix because she has some white fur on her chest and her toes. Rosie Girl is dog, cat and kid friendly, is housebroken and weighs about 65 lbs. Rosie came into a rescue group when she was only a pup and had mange so bad, that she had very little fur. We have had Rosie in our home with us for a month and a half now and she is a fantastic dog! Rosie is still coming out of her shell and is a bit timid around men, so she will need a patient family who can continue her socialization and help her blossom. She is very sweet and loving and loves to cuddle on the couch with us or our cat, Theo. Rosie loves to go to the dog bark and run around. She also loves the water and plays in our sprinklers and in the pond at doggie daycare. Rosie is learning how to be a dog and it’s so fun to watch her explore new things. She would do well in a quieter home or a home with older kids. Rosie is currently in Houston, TX with us, but we are willing to adopt her to a good family in another state. We will handle transporting her to her forever home. Adoption fee is $150. Vet check and home check required. Call Ginelle at 772-475-7680 or email me at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rosie, a Houston Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
