Koukla's Story...
This is a courtesy listing. Koukla is not a CHEW Dog Rescue dog. Please call Barbara/Ray Seeberger 253-581-3638 if you are interested in Koukla.

Koukla is a sweet 2-3 year old long haired Daschhund weighing about 13 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. He walks well on a leash and is potty trained. Koukla appears to be afraid of most men and boys, but warmed up really well to his human dad on their way home from the Humane Society. He plays nicely with the family’s other dog, Joey, but because of Koukla’s need to monopolize his human mom he has caused Joey so much stress that he is now pooping and peeing in the house. So the family feels it’s only fair to Joey to rehome Koukla and let Joey have what he longs for, the close cuddly relationship with his mom and dad that he's missed since Koukla's arrival.

Koukla’s other challenges include barking incessantly when the family has company…probably out of fear and stress in general. And he is likely to do some submissive peeing when he meets new people. And he has nipped at--but did not bite--the family’s 14 year old grandson…but when the boy sat on the couch, Koukla jumped up beside him and let the boy pet him.

The family is looking for a good home for Koukla…someone that can patiently help him gain confidence but not control.

Please call Barbara/Ray Seeberger 253-581-3638 if you are interested. The family wants only the best for him and will not return him to the Tacoma Humane Society.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Koukla, a Gig Harbor Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Gig Harbor, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Gig Harbor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gig Harbor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gig Harbor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gig Harbor paves the way for another one to be saved.
