Gypsy's Story...
Gypsy was rescued by 4Paws from a high-kill shelter in Maryland. She is mellow and will just relax in your arms when you hold her, purring and kneading her front paws. When you're ready for some fun, she loves to play with long dangly feather-on-a-stick toys. She is an all-around good cat, equally up for playtime or just snuggling on the sofa.

In addition to her sweet, friendly personality Gypsy also has a gorgeous caramel color tabby coat. Her fur looks warm and buttery, especially if she is napping in a sunny spot.

She should be fine as a family pet and living with other cats, with proper introductions. Helpful guidelines for introducing new cats to each other are posted on our website. We do not know if she has ever met a dog.

She is very curious when people are entering and exiting the home. Extra care needs to be taken when opening exterior doors to ensure that she is nowhere nearby and that she cannot escape outdoors.

Gypsy was born April 20, 2012. She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia, is current on her vaccinations, and has been micro chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gypsy, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
