Tripod's Story...
Tripod is a lover. He is a BIG cat who loves to talk with you. Tripod got his name because when he came to the rescue he would not use his front right paw. A trip to the vet determined it was an older injury and not broken or infected at that time, however as a result of the injury two of Tripod's claws had grown into the pads of his foot. Now that his nails have been cut back he uses the paw pretty normally. He would make a great only cat as he can sometimes get a little jealous if he is not the one getting all the attention. If Tripod gets outside he would likely be gone so he needs a home that is committed to keeping him as an indoor only cat. An adult only home or one with older children mindful to keep doors closed would be best for Tripod. Adoption fee $100

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tripod, a Antioch Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Antioch, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Antioch.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Antioch already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Antioch breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Antioch paves the way for another one to be saved.
