Louie's Story...
Louie recently waltzed into a Gilbert vet office. The vet could tell that adventurous boy isn’t feral (and he’s FIV/FELV/FIP negative too), but no owner could be found so we volunteered to find him a home.

This 3 year-old is an attentive kitty who likes to explore his surroundings and report back with a meow. Louie will tell you that he’s large and in charge; he’ll also lay down the law with other cats and especially kittens. He may not be a good choice for a multi-cat household.

Louie is a happy cat who doesn’t let much bother him. He is curious about our dogs and likes to hang out with people. He is playful and alert, and he’s happy to let you pet him. Louie can’t wait to prove how great a cat he is!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Louie, a Gilbert Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
