Hershey's Story...
Hershey is a 2 year old Dachshund Australian shephard mix, that was rescued from a high kill shelter. He loves to romp around in his foster families yard and play with the children and other dogs. He is not so great with small animals though, he plays a bit too rough for them. Hershey really loves to snuggle up after a long day of playing and relax with his foster mom. Hershey is current on all vaccinations and will be neutered prior to adoption. If you are interested in making Hershey your new family member please complete an application and email it to adoptions@wagginghearts.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hershey, a Hainesville Dachshund/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Australian Shepherd for sale in Hainesville, or seeking a Dachshund/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Hainesville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hainesville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hainesville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Dachshund/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hainesville paves the way for another one to be saved.
