Poppy's Story...
Poppy here, the darling girl with pep in my step and sweetness in my soul! I am a purebred German Shepherd who will blossom in the right home. At 7 months old I have a lot to learn, and they keep telling me about how much fun I will have in puppy classes - I can't wait to go! I do well with other dogs, and will live best with a male that doesn't mind my goofy puppy energy! Speaking of energy, I would love an active family who will is looking for an exercise buddy to hike and play with. Can't you imagine us on the beach together?! Because I am big and it's hard to control my wiggly body, I am best in a home without tiny children. I have so many happy experiences to look forward to, are you just the one to share them with me? Fill out an application at so we can schedule a meet and greet! I am fixed, vaccinated, crate trained and microchipped. My adoption fee is $500.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Poppy, a Portland German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Portland, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
