Balto's Story...
Well hello! How are you today? My name's Balto, what's yours? I am a husky and they're guessing I'm around 9 years old. I'm currently living at the shelter and looking for a new forever home. I was found as a stray wandering around on my own, and some nice people found me and brought me in. I'm a nice old boy and am just looking for someone to love me and give me a home. I have limited vision and hearing, so I need some guidance when walking so I don't run into things. I'm up to date on shots, neutered, and have a microchip. Do you think you might have room in your house and heart for an older gentleman like me? The shelter is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, and Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, come visit me!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Balto, a Youngwood Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Husky dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky breeders who help with Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
