Charra's Story...
Charra is a skinny long young fella, probably around a year or two old. He has a super cute cow print coat and is extremely outgoing & affectionate.

He loves to sit at your feet when you are on the computer or sleep in the bed with you at night. If you are busy on the phone he will come touch you with his paw to get some lovin’. He is very gentle and friendly and is more than glad to be picked up and carried and also likes to follow his person around the house.

Because of he laid back disposition he is fine with families with young children, as long as they can manage to close doors behind them when going outside so that he doesn’t slip out the door. He is OK with other kitties as long as they are nice to him but we don’t know about dogs yet.

Charra was rescued as a stray living outside near a feral colony. He was found hanging around an old burnt down house when he was found by his rescuer. It’s evident by how sweet he is, that he was once a pet.

Charra has great litter box manners and likes both canned and dry cat food.

He is neutered, has tested negative for FIV & feline leukemia & is update on vaccinations.

Charra, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
