Zoey's Story...
"Are you looking for a petite and precious snuggle-bug? Well, here I am! My name is ZOEY, and everyone here at the shelter says that I'm a perfect little girl. I'm a Chihuahua-mix, and I'm about eight months old. I get along great with kids and with other dogs, and I'd make a wonderful family pet. I'm a happy girl who likes to take walks, and I most certainly love to be held. I would do well in a house or an apartment. You'll be happy to hear that I've already been house trained, too. Please come visit me at the El Cajon Animal Shelter so you can see what a cutie-pie I am, then ask our kind shelter staff if we can get to know each other better in our lovely play yard. I'll be listening for the sound of your footsteps as you approach my kennel, so please hurry. Love, Zoey" Kennel #54

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zoey, a El Cajon Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
