Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rusty is a very sweet, loving, playful rough-coat JRTCA-pedigreed Jack Russell who is looking for a loving forever home. Although 10 years old, Rusty has a lot of energy and still loves to chase squirrels and hunt field mice. He loves people and loves to play. He will bark only when he wants to play and will alert you with a little whine when he needs to go do his business outside. He is an indoor dog who loves to get out and run and play.
He is quite good on his leash and loves to go for walks. He is a very good boy and even enjoys his time at the grooming parlor. He, like most Jacks, does not play nicely with cats and he would be best as an only dog or a companion to a female Jack Russell or other breed. He often tries to dominate other males. He was neutered recently so we may yet see a little softening in his animal dominance.
Rusty may have had a tough few years. He was turned into a North Carolina shelter by his most recent owner. He has sustained an injury to his left eye that has left him blind in that eye. Our veterinarian believes it causes him no pain and he does not need any further medical attention for the eye. It does not slow Rusty down and he does fine with his good eye. He is otherwise healthy, neutered and up to date on all shots. He tested negative for heartworms and tick-borne illnesses including lyme disease and ehrlichiosis.
Rusty needs a very loving forever home so he can live out his golden years with the love and security he so richly deserves. Rusty has his original JRTCA pedigree. If you are interested in loving Rusty and making him a part of your family, please contact Christopher Bare at uncbare@yahoo.com. Rusty will reward you with a lifetime's worth of love and entertainment.
