Jimmy's Story...
Hi There! My name is Jimmy! I had found myself as a stray in a shelter in New Mexico, very scared, when some very nice people came to get me. I was kind of a mess and needed a bath and a haircut, there is a picture of me before my spa day. The nice people cleaned me up, took me to the vet, and put me on a transport to Colorado to find my forever home. I am a little shy in new situations and with new people, but with a little patience I warm up quickly. I love to snuggle and I am an excellent hugger! I love to learn new things and I am learning some fun tricks in my foster home. I am small, about 10 pounds and I am about a year and a half old. I would love a quieter home that would give lots of snuggles and love. My adoption fee is $250 and includes my neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, de-worming, a heartworm test, and a beginning obedience class. Please fill out an application at if you would like to meet me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jimmy, a Ft. Collins Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Ft. Collins, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Ft. Collins.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ft. Collins already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ft. Collins breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ft. Collins paves the way for another one to be saved.
