Pearl's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Pearl's Story...
Pearl is being fostered in CT. Pearl (or Pearly Mae as she is called in her foster home) is one special senior! She is a 10 year old, 55# yellow (almost white) Lab mix. She was surrendered to a high kill shelter in Louisiana by an owner who could no longer care for her. The sweet pup caught the eye of a shelter volunteer and she was saved! She is now looking for a loving home thanks to the help of Bonnie Blue Rescue. Pearl loves to ride in the car, take long naps and go for leisurely walks outside. She is an excellent cuddle buddy and will snore next to you for hours while you are reading or watching TV. She is missing quite a few teeth (is mostly toothless in the front) but has no trouble eating crunchy dog food. Granny P is housetrained (with a doggie door) and crate trained although she is completely trustworthy uncrated. She sleeps though the night, won't chew your shoes or pee on your rug...just a few benefits of owning a "mature" pup!! Granny P is super with kids. She is good with most small dogs or puppies but seems to feel threatened by (and will pick fights with) dogs her own size or bigger. Granny P would probably be happiest as an only dog. She has no problem interacting with other dogs on walks or in public. While she is older, she definitely has LOTS of life left to live and LOTS of love left to give! She is a joy to have around...her tail never stops wagging and her toothless grin will melt your heart. Check out Pearl in action during one of her more playful moments here - http://youtu.be/CfCf14yC0-w

Granny P is currently fostered in Louisiana, but free transport is available anywhere in the US!

About Bonnie Blue Rescue - Virginia Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Bonnie Blue's main goal is to save unwanted and "left behind" dogs from kill shelters and place them into loving, forever homes. "Owner surrenders" are also accepted at Bonnie Blue, where we will rehabilitate and rehome many different breeds. Once a dog comes into our rescue, he or she will stay with us until we can find the perfect family. We screen our adopters thoroughly to ensure they have only the best intentions in adopting a new member to their family.

Bonnie Blue also networks with other rescues and shelters to help save even more animals from a cruel fate.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee is $300 unless otherwise noted. $75 of this adoption fee will be refunded if proof of enrollment in obedience class is shown to the rescue within 30 days of adoption. We HIGHLY encourage our adopters to go ahead and sign their new pups up for obedience classes.

Our adoption process begins with a returned adoption application. Once turned back in, it generally takes 48-72 hours for us to thoroughly check the applications. If approved, we will contact you to schedule a home visit and (if a local adoption) will try to arrange it so that we can bring the pup that you are interested in adopting with us. Provided the home visit goes well, you are considered for adoption.

Please note that our adoptions are not "first come, first served". We are diligent about making sure that we find the right family for each of our foster pups. Just because you are approved to adopt does not mean that the pup that you initially applied to adopt is the best fit for your family. We will work with you to make sure that you find the perfect forever pet.
