Micha's Story...
MIcah is a beautiful reddish brown and white 3-4 year old female basset hound! She is a playful affectionate girl who enjoys her human and doggie friend companions! She is great around all people and with kids. She prefers to be the star and top dog of the house! She does not mind being brushed and does not mind the water/baths. She would do best in a home without cats as she will run and chase them. She was surrendered because her prior owner had kids and felt like she was no longer an important part of the family. They put her out on a chain and left a mattress outside for her and pretty much started ignoring her existence. Another person stepped forward and took her in but let her roam the neighborhood loose and didn;t keep her out of harms way. Sadly she became pregnant and another rescuer stepped in to see that this sweetheart was kept safe and that her and her puppies would have the chance at a real life. She has since had her puppies (some still up for adoption on BBR's website!) and she is now avl for her new family! Lets show this beautiful girl shew won't be discarded like that ever again & that she will be loved and cherished for the rest of her life!

Please email us at if you are interested in adopting Micah! Our adoption fee is $300. $75 of the adoption fee is refundable if proof of obedience class is demonstrated within 3 months of adoption. Each of our pups goes to their forever family up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered & microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Micha, a Richmond Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
