My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

PLEASE CLICK ON "READ MORE ABOUT THIS PET" FOR COMPLETE INFORMATION!

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.

Ellie is an adorable sheltie mix pup who is around a year old and petite at 33 pounds. She may be mixed with shiba inu but that is a guess! She is so sweet, playful, and lovable and is looking for her forever home after being rescued from an impound. Ellie has a great deal of puppy energy and she will do best with another playful dog her size or larger. She loves kids and would do best with kids 5-6 and older as she is still a little mouthy like all puppies are. Ellie is house trained on a schedule and is crate trained. She loves to play with toys, go on walks and would do so well in obedience training. Because Ellie is pretty much a puppy she does require a fenced yard and a stay at home adult. Ellie is with a 501c3 rescue. Her adoption fee is $375 due to all her vet care for heartworm treatment and prevention, spay, immunizations, professional grooming, worming, flea/tick prevention and HomeAgain microchip.

To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
