Here is what else her foster family had to say:
Roxanne is learning her house manners. She does scope out the counter and has a nose that could smell anything left out so beware of leaving food on the counter. She has not chewed anything in the house but does get bored if not given something to do like a stuffed toy or nylabone to chew on. She is crated whenever we go out and this should continue until she can be fully trusted in the home. She is learning all the basic commands such as sit, off, leave it, come and wait. She is well on her way to being fully house trained. She has spent a lot of time outdoors so has not yet learned how to ask to go out. We are currently using a harness on her walks which she does quite well with. A slight tug on the leash will have her back off it she is pulling a bit. For the most part she is a joy to walk. She is quiet in the car and enjoys the ride lying down or looking out the window.
Roxanne is very friendly with everyone she meets. She is not shy and doesn't appear to have any fears of loud noises and such. She has a tendency to jump on people and other dogs in her exuberance to meet up with them but we are working on that.
She loves to chase the ball outdoors retrieving it and bringing it back. She doesn't quite have the knack of bringing it back to us but will drop it close by wanting for the next chase. She enjoys her walks enjoying meeting up with other people and dogs along the way. She is learning commands such as sit, come, off and leave it. She is very intelligent but also headstrong so will need someone who is willing to continue to work with her to develop her skills as she has the potential to be a wonderful pet and companion. She needs daily walks and activities to keep her busy. She would be a great candidate for agility training as she loves to run. She likes to play with our dog and is not any different with dogs she meets on her walks.
Roxanne would be best suited with an active couple who like to run, are involved in outdoor activities or who would be interested in having her trained in some type of dog related activity. She is an intelligent dog high energy dog who would be bored if left for long periods of time without something to do. She would well with older children in the home but may be too much for young children. She would be fine with another friendly dog in the home or as an only pet.
If you think Roxanne would be a good choice for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
