My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This 3 y/o little girl is as cute as a button! Emily was lost on the streets of Houston. When the finders couldn’t locate any owners, Emily came to HBHR to find a new forever home. At 13 inches tall, Emily weighs 23 pounds…just about perfect for a little beagle gal!

Emily is fully housebroken. She will crate quietly, but usually has the run of the house. She has never gotten into anything that didn’t belong to her. She is a smart little cookie. Emily learned the dog door after a few minutes. Emily interacts with her foster siblings and will join in on a good game of chase, but really prefers human companionship. Emily is a sweet, quiet young lady who loves to cuddle up next to you on the couch. She is not one to get right up into your face and will only give out kisses if you really deserve one! She gets so happy to see you come back into a room that her tail might lose all the hair off soon from the beating it takes!

Emily walks well on a leash and enjoys taking walks with her person. She is a quiet girl, who rarely barks, so would be fine in an apartment. Emily does well with men, women and kids. As already noted, she is a people person. She will make someone a wonderful companion, so apply today to come and meet this little honey!

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, THE FIRST STEP is to complete our adoption questionnaire. Please visit our website and follow the instructions on adoption: www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org - Our regular adoption fee is $250; special needs, mixes and senior dogs are $150; pups under 8 months are $300. The fee includes the spay/neuter, the vaccines, flea and heartworm preventative/treatment, a new leash/ collar/ rescue ID tag, microchip, and some training. Some dogs may have had additional vetcare such as orthopedic surgeries, heartworm treatment or other procedures, but these "extras" will not affect their adoption fee. Donations to help with vetcare are always welcomed!
