Hagrid's Story...
Hagrid is a silver Siamese Lynx point mix. He is a little shy at first, but once he feels at home, he is very playful and sweet. He loves getting kisses on the nose, playing with toys on his own (he throws them into the air!) or with you (he loves chasing feathers), and even rolling over for belly rubs. He is a big boy (weighs 21.5 lbs) and is currently on a diet. He was found near death as a stray with a severe urinary tract blockage, but after being treated, he is on his special diet food and he hasn't had any problems since! He will need to stay on his prescription diet for life. He has a scarred ear from a previous ear infection and hematoma, but that doesn't bother him at all. He gets along well with big, calm dogs, and loves women, but he is afraid of big or loud men. He would likely do well with younger cats or kittens but he doesn't like older cats very much. He would be a great only cat. He loves to snuggle with you on the couch while you read, and to bathe in the sunshine. He has good litter box hygiene and does have all his claws, but so far he only scratches on his scratching post. He is good for his nail trims, as long as you reward him with a treat afterward! Hagrid would love to spend the rest of his life snuggling and purring with you! Look into those deep blue eyes and you won't be able to stop thinking about him!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hagrid, a St. Louis Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
