Jacob's Story...
Five little kitten siblings, Jacob, Brooke, Kayla, Nico, and Tate, were brought to us and we sent them to a loving foster home to be raised and socialized. They will be coming to the Humane Society shelter on June 17 and will be ready for adoption on that date. These kittens are lively little felines who have enjoyed visiting residents at the local hospital, middle school and day care facility. They loved the attention and will make excellent companions or family pets. Being held by a human is on their "to do" list every day. Jacob is a handsome orange tabby with white boots. Kittens in foster care can be put on Hold by completing an adoption application and putting down a deposit. Call the Humane Society at (309) 944-4868 for more information. DOB 4-13-13. POSTED 6-12-13

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jacob, a Geneseo Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Geneseo, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Geneseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Geneseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Geneseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Geneseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
