True to his foxhound breed, cutest Chester is gentle, easygoing, and gets along with children and other dogs. He can be a real “goofball” according to his foster mom in Georgia. Chester, 3-ish years old and ready for the “good life” in Washington state, was rescued out of high kill Georgia and is ready for adventures and sniffs with you! Chester is independent and like most hound he might be considered aloof. It takes him a little while to bond to you, but in the meantime he is fun and friendly and adventuresome. He will be easy to melt into your family. But you might see his true personality the minute you meet him..Especially considering how many changes he has had in his short life! He is unassuming and quiet (for a hound!) and loves to be outdoors. He prefers people, but doesn’t demand attention. Chester is on the smaller side, weighing 45 lbs and is considered a medium hound. He is mixed with something – lab? ..probably. Chester loves his walks and runs and the water! Foster mom loves his adorable “grin” and is happy that he is leaving the thunderstorms of the south behind! You see, Mr. Cool Dude Chester is a fraidy boy when it comes to lighting and thunder and has been known to hide during these periods! Chester will love an active family to get him out and about and he will want daily exercise. A good walk, run, a weekend hike or a swim…all right up his hound “ally”! Chester would love his own yard and kids to play with as he enjoys playing fetch (or hide and seek) and rolling around in the grass…he can’t wait for a Northwest summer! Chester is house trained and crate trained and fine in the car. He only howls at fire trucks and if someone else howls! He has a lovely coat and it is easy to groom and he is a low shedder. Chester is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped and is now in boarding in Federal Way. Chester is neutered, micro-chipped and totally vaccinated. He recently had heartworm treatment but is now HW free and clear.
