My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ruger is a 16 month old male red tri Aussie mix available for adoption in Savannah, Georgia. He's a very sweet, affectionate, happy boy who's always ready to play!
Ruger has a tendency to chase cats, but his ability to get along with other dogs (large/small, male/female, young/old) more than makes up for it. It's safe to assume another dog would have to have a pretty serious problem with Ruger for him to react negatively in any way. He would LOVE to have a playmate! We believe Ruger will be happiest with a sibling who's just like him - ready to run around in a fenced yard and willing to chew on the other end of a stick or play tug without any guarding or aggressive issues.
Ruger loves children, and has no desire to herd or nip them. He's working on his manners in foster care right now - specifically jumping. At 50lbs, small children may not be the best choice until he's got it mastered. He may accidentally knock a toddler over when excited.
Ruger would benefit from continued basic training with his new family or a fun group-style obedience class. He is not stubborn or defiant. Ruger is eager to please, responds well to verbal correction, and is motivated by praise and food equally. This is simply the first time in his life he's experienced any type of structure or consistent training. So far he's doing great! Ruger is housebroken, walks into his crate when asked, and rarely barks. He is trusting of all people, and greets visitors with a wiggle. Really just a FUN boy!
