OREO's Story...
Hi my name is Oreo! I'm a six year old, 12 pound, Chihuahua. I came to The Ark No Kill Shelter because my former humans had too many dogs to take care of me. I have been to Community Animal Hospital for comprehensive vetting: Veternarian Examined, Veterinarian administered vaccinations, neutered, tested negative for heartworms, de-wormed and am on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. I am housebroken, good with kids, and other dogs. Come visit me during ADOPTER FRIENDLY HOURS: Tuesday - Saturday, 1 pm - 5 pm. When you adopt me we will receive a PETCO "Think Adoption First" Coupon Book to help us get started. For more information call 423-472-2744 or come by 240 Oak St NW. Hope to meet you soon!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

OREO, a Cleveland Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Cleveland, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Cleveland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cleveland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cleveland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cleveland paves the way for another one to be saved.
