My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***COURTESY POST***
Pound Dog Rescue is posting Bella as a favour to Elite Dog Training who is looking to re-home her after taking her in from an unsuitable situation. If interested please follow the regular adoption application procedure outlined on our website and we will forward your info on. Thanks!

Let me introduce you to Bella. She is a 3 year old spayed registered German Shepherd. Bella is a tall lean dog which is a nice size for any living situation. She weighs approximately 68lbs. She has lots of energy and enjoys cuddles and quiet time. Bella is black and red in colour with a short double coat. She is a beautiful dog with an even more wonderful temperament and personality.

Bella’s family needs her to find a new forever home because Bella’s baby sister has such bad asthma that her and Bella can’t live in the same house.

Bella needs to be in a home where she will not be allowed to roam free and get lost. She is very calm and quiet indoors and enjoys laying down chewing on a bone.
Bella enjoys all forms of exercise offered. Bella has lots of energy and does well with regular walks and playing ball in the yard. But if it is pouring outside she can make do with quick trips out for potty breaks. She loves walks and does well on a regular leash or an extend-a-leash.

Bella will allow you to do anything to her. She likes to be brushed. She is also perfectly behaved when getting her nails trimmed, ears clean and teeth brushed.

Bella has been such a good dog. She is housetrained and crate trained and loves to sleep in her crate at night and stays in her crate when we are away from the house. She has been an easy dog to foster and an even easier dog to love.

Bella has settled in with her foster dog brothers. She is very interested in playing with them however is quite often too outgoing and has to be supervised. Bella would do well in a home with another friendly, well-behaved large dog, but this is not a necessity for her. Bella would do best being the only dog and getting all the attention to herself. Bella is too outgoing and loves to run and chase cats so she is best in a home where there are no cats.

Bella is not being fostered in a home with children however did live with her younger sister for two years. She would do fine with older children. Bella can be an excitable dog and therefore gregarious, loud, and rowdy children would be too much for her. She would love the attention from kids who would love to pet her and play ball with her in the yard.

Bella is being taught basic obedience in her foster home and now knows sit, down, come and stay. She is also being taught to sit upon greeting people. Bella’s new family must commit to continuing her obedience training to bring out the best in this smart dog.

As a final note, Bella is all up to date on her vaccinations. Her only allergies are to one specific brand of heart worm medication. She is looking for a forever home to share her love. Could this be yours?

An adoption donation of $400 is required. This helps cover our costs for veterinary care including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test, deworming and whatever else the dog may require.
