THIS IS ELAYNA....a very special, 11 lb, 4-5 yr old, tri-colored Shih Tzu X, who will steal your heart in a NY second. She was being networked on Facebook and I could not understand why she hadn't been scooped up! This little girl is about as sweet as they come. Maybe that is why her former owners bred her, as she has had a few babies! Not anymore, little Elayna!! She is cuddly, loving, affectionate -- even seems to be potty trained with outside access (but no guarantees at your house!). I was teaching her to go up and down the stairs and noticed she wasn't learning like most of the dogs. The reason? It turns out that Elayna has high blood pressure, which is very uncommon in a dog, and is affecting the detachment of her retina. Right now, she sees shadows, but is sight challenged. We have put her on medication and she will need to be on it for the rest of her life. We'd love her to go to a home where she will get oodles of attention ....kids over 8 yrs old OK and she does not have to go to a home where there is another dog, but we do not want her to go to a home where she is left alone for hours. She would love to sit with you while you work or keep you company watching TV. Whether she can see or not, Elayna has a fantastic personality, she is a lap dog that you will fall in love with immediately, despite any challenges she may or may not have. If I didn't have so many stairs, I would keep her myself!!
Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!

Most Sundays, unless we are doing a special event, we are at Westfield Century City Mall from 12p-4pm behind the Concierge Booth near Brooks Bros. Park in the Orange Section in the parking structure and come up the escallator and follow the signage. You can see this, and many more, adorable pups at this weekly event! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!!!
