My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 06/16/2013: TRACY is 10 years old and weighs an itty bitty 4.9 lbs; she is being fostered in Jacksonville, FL.

The people who found me thought I was a boy, so initially they called me Trevor. I am a really pretty little girlie and love the name Tracy, which I already respond to. Aren’t I smart? My Foster Mom has a big dog she says is a retriever, because he will get things and bring them to you. Well, then I must be a “Yorkie Retriever-Tease”. You see when FM throws my toy, I will run and get it and bring it back towards you, but only part-way. Then I gradually use my nose to push it closer to you until you can reach it and throw it again.

I’m trying to let FM understand my barking and I think she’s finally getting it. I’m saying one of two things so far…….”I’m hungry” or “take me to go potty.” I only have one canine tooth but what can you expect as you get older. Don’t older people lose their teeth? They are lucky and can get dentures. I’m told they don’t have good-fitting dentures for dogs yet. I can eat a small kibble dry food, but also enjoy some of those people food additions (cheese, chicken, etc) as a treat. I am housetrained as long as I get to go potty on a regular basis. Do not worry about night- time, as I sleep all night until time to get up with FM. She has these nice soft furry pads scattered throughout the house for me – I love to sleep on these. I did get a chance to sleep in a satin bed and that was really nice but these are OK, too.

We have traveled some since I came to FM and I’m not very fond of riding in the car; not sure why it bothers me but it makes me very nervous. FM tells me I’m safe now and should never have to go through being homeless and scared and hungry ever again. She gives me plenty of love and attention. I just need time to learn to trust people again. My FM assures me that in time I will learn to trust and want nothing else but to snuggle with my new family. I had some trouble with those nasty, biting fleas and my coat is not in very good condition. However, my FM is giving me a special bath every day and it feels better and is beginning to look better, too.

I would like to find a fur-ever home with at least one stay-at-home person. I am OK with dogs and cats as long as they are sweet and gentle since I’m such a little tiny girlie. I will follow you everywhere so I’m sure not to lose you like my other family. 
PLEASE NOTE: Due to her small size, Tracy can only be adopted into an adult home.

UPDATED BIO 06/12/2013: TRACY is 10 years old and weighs an itty bitty 4.9 lbs; Tracy is being fostered in Jacksonville, FL.

Tracy’s skin is a mess since she was covered in fleas when found, and has scratched a lot of her hair until it fell out. She is getting special shampoos frequently to help her itchy skin heal. It was initially thought that Tracy may be hearing impaired, but she comes when called and seems very bright and happy. Even though this little princess has not been well taken care of, she seems to have adjusted well in her foster home. Foster Mom says that she loves to be near her person, and to explore the backyard. Right now she is shy and timid, but FM thinks she just needs to learn that she is in a safe place and won’t be harmed ever again. Her vet visit went great, she was HW negative (yeah!) and her bloodwork was perfect. She had a slight heart murmur, but the vet wasn’t really concerned about it. When FM picked her up at the vet, she greeted her with a wagging tail and a little jump up – so sweet! Please don’t turn away from Tracy because of her age – she so deserves to be treated like the little princess she is for the rest of her life! PLEASE NOTE! Due to her tiny size, Tracy can only be adopted into an adult household.

INITIAL BIO 06/11/2013: MEET TRACY! She is 10 years old and weighs an itty bitty 4.9 lbs; Tracy is being fostered in Jacksonville, FL. Her skin is a mess since she was covered in fleas and has scratched a lot of her hair until it fell out. She is hearing-impaired, but that may chance once she sees the vet - she may have a lot of wax deep down in her ears. This little girlie has not been well taken care of. :( She just came into rescue today so please check our website for updates on her.
