Kiah's Story...
Kiah
Female
DOB: 1/27/08
Australian Shepherd
Weight: 50 Pounds

Kiah is a fun loving, spirited soul that enjoys people and likes to play. She always greets staff with a hearty bark and looks for a loving pat on the head.

Kiah especially enjoys water and during the summer she has a pool in her yard that she jumps in and out of. Following a long walk she may even put her front paws in her drinking bucket in order to cool off.

Kiah is gentle, loving, intelligent and wants very much to please so training her is a rewarding experience. She watches and listens to her handler waiting to see what is expected of her. She is good with cats and with the proper introduction will accept other well-socialized dogs. She is also house-trained with a doggie door.

Kiah does not like being left alone for long periods of time, so an owner or family that would be home most of the time would make her very happy. She will make a very devoted, loyal friend to someone that can provide a loving, warm environment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kiah, a Mountain Center Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Mountain Center, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Mountain Center.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mountain Center already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mountain Center breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mountain Center paves the way for another one to be saved.
