Jonathon's Story...
Jonathon is a very loving, young male Maltese, about 1 ½ years of age. He was acquired from a Southern CA shelter. This little guy is a total “love bug” as he is so happy when he can snuggle close to his foster mom and dad. This very mellow little, 6 ½ lb. Maltese, gets along with other small dogs and enjoys going for walks. He is most happy and content when he can be near his family.

His foster mom noticed that Jonathon was reluctant to use his left rear leg when he walked fast or ran. Jonathon was examined by a vet and x-rays determined he had a hip problem that could be corrected with surgery. A month ago Jonathon had surgery to fix his hip, and he has been released by his surgeon to continue his rehab exercises.

Although Jonathon is not quite ready for adoption, he will be at the Irvine Petco this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, June 29th

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jonathon, a Ft. Bragg Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Ft. Bragg, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Ft. Bragg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ft. Bragg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ft. Bragg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ft. Bragg paves the way for another one to be saved.
