Sugar Audrey's Story...
This sweet girl is looking for a forever home and/or foster home. She was picked up off the streets of a very bad neighborhood in Houston where she was covered with mange, was starving and just in horrible shape. Forgotten Dogs of the Fifth Ward rescued her and she has been in Denton, TX at a foster home recovering. Her skin is completely well and she is looking for a wonderful forever home. She is GREAT with dogs about her size.. she loves to play and is WONDERFUL at the dog park. She also LOVES to talk, eat and is great around children. Audrey (or Sugar as we have been calling her) is about 4-6 years old and even uses the doggie door! She is calm and does not get on furniture....she is super affectionate and loves all people! She would be great as a single dog or she would love to have other dog friends as well... Please let us know if you would like to give this sweet girl a forever home. If you are interested in meeting her please email or fill out an application online at Thanks.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sugar Audrey, a Porter Husky/German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Porter, or seeking a Husky/German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Porter.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Porter already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Porter breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Husky/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Porter paves the way for another one to be saved.
