PETER's Story...
Hi there! I'm Peter - a super SUPER sweetie! My second birthday is right around the corner and I'm hoping I won't have to spend it without a family of my own. I was dropped off at a town shelter with my mama and siblings when I was just a tiny baby...then I grew up at the shelter :( I watched the rest of my family get adopted, but I remained as I was just so scared and spent most of time curled up in my litter box. My luck just took a turn for the better, and I'm now at GPS where I'm no longer in a cage where I've become a super-confident and affectionate guy! I'm ready to finally be adopted! I'm a gentle boy that loves to be pet (I stretch my little toes to show you how happy I am) and purr like a motor! I also absolutely positively LOVE other cats!!! I am a huge MUSH and I love to give my feline friends HUGS! It took me two weeks to come out of my shell (I think that's understandable after all I've been through!!) I need someone who understands that I've never ever had a home of my own before, so it will take me a little time to realize how safe and lucky I am, but that I'm an amazing lovable boy who is worth it. Please meet me and love me forever! I'll return the favor!!

Peter is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and ready for his forever home! If you're interested in meeting him, please email adoption@goldenpawsociety.org to set up an appointment!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

PETER, a Huntington Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Huntington, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Huntington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntington paves the way for another one to be saved.
